MEET ROB

I’ve always had a love of exercise,  fitness and sport which led me to lead an active and varied lifestyle and inspired me to complete my degree in Leisure & Recreation Management. I've bounds of energy to lift you up and inspire you.

My passions

I have really enjoyed playing rugby and golf throughout the years and have achieved many personal fitness goals including cycling 1,000 miles in 9 days from Lands End to John o’Groats, 300 miles from London to Paris and have also run several marathons.

I’ve competed in triathlons, a range of Tough Mudders and assault courses and am always on the lookout for the next challenge to stretch my ability and meet new people.  Most recently I completed the UK “Three Peaks” within 22 hours; and swam to the Isle of Wight.

It’s not about taking things away to solve your pain. It’s about recognising where you can improve and achieve your best body and health possible.

I really want you to drive you and your families to be your best.

Life is a choice.

Qualifications

& Experience

I’ve been in the fitness industry since 1999, working for David Lloyd Leisure whilst completing my degree in Leisure Management, before developing health and fitness for 17 years for New Forest District Council in successfully redeveloping and running 3 of their leisure centres.

I qualified as a Level 2 Gym instructor in 2003, and Level 3 Nutrition and Weight Management Coach in 2004 and written countless fitness programmes since to help and inspire people!

I have been running large group fitness classes since 2005, regularly teaching 60+ people in Circuits classes for over a decade. I love teaching Boxercise, Swimming, Kettlebells, TRX, and Gravity Yoga.

I completed my Level 3 Personal Training qualification with YMCA fitness in 2013, then set up The Gym Tin in 2018 with a view to get more people around the fitness table.

In 2019 I completed my sports massage qualification and upgraded this to Level 5 Sports Massage in 2022.  I'm always eager to develop my knowledge further and regularly participate in continuing professional development.

With my knowledge and experience, I will push, motivate and inspire you to be your best self.

As a father of two young children myself, I also understand life is balancing act and that the holistic approach to life is challenging. You'll find me regularly running with my sons on the school run!

This said, I’ve experienced my Dad-bod!

Through following my own principles, I’ve been able to lose 24kgs from when I was more office-based and now lead a much happier and balanced life.

Unlike some Personal Trainers, I can fully empathise with your own journey.

I’d love to help you on your journey.
